About Shae

My fascination with the human body began well over a decade ago, and led me to complete my Bachelor of Health Sciences with Masters in Physiotherapy Practice in 2013. I’ve fostered a deep understanding of how movement helps to create vitality, both physically and mentally.

My yoga journey began in 2015, where I attended yoga classes at my gym, to help me ‘stretch out’ from the cardio and strength training I was doing. I stopped after a few classes, as I was about to pursue my life travelling Australia as a locum physiotherapist. Two years later I was working on a short contract in Mackay, Queensland, where I joined a dedicated yoga studio. What I learnt from yoga in those few short months, particularly around self-love and self-acceptance, was more than I was expecting; and was so empowering at the time. Then, again, I stepped away from regular practice to continue my gypsy, van-living lifestyle.

In January 2020, I’d made significant steps to settle in one place - Naarm. When COVID hit and we couldn’t leave home, along with going through some major personal events, I turned to yoga. Since then, yoga has embedded and weaved it’s way into who I am, and now what I do. I simply couldn’t function without it.

I jumped at the opportunity to connect deeper with my yoga practice, with the offering of a 200hr teacher training at the beloved studio I’d been attending between lockdowns - Kindred Movement. Not only did I connect more deeply with my yoga practice, but I felt a much deeper connection to myself and my inner world than I had ever felt before. The knowledge and experiences I’ve had as both a physiotherapist and a student and teacher of yoga have merged to create a wondrous dance, and this was where Soulful Kinetics was founded.

I hope to guide people to plug into each moment and journey inwards, building a stronger connection with their inner worlds to foster greater self-awareness, self-compassion, and a greater ease in their lives.
